  Bible Education Memorial Fund

  this young teen was killed in a hunting accident in alaska.

  no foul play.. i read this article and she seemed like a lovely girl, very devoted to being a jw.

  but, i was wondering what was up with this bible education fund in the last sentence?

  BTW, if ANYBODY believes that JWs actually "hunt for purpose of gathering food - rather than SPORT", then they should buy some lottery tickets on the sale of the Brooklyn Bridge or the Eifel Tower.

  Ya, I know at least 50 witnesses who hunt for food. Men and Women. Canadians and Americans. And they drain the blood and process it too.

  And I don't know anyone who sport hunts. Sport Fish yes.

  I hunt for food. We live no where near Alaska.

  Sad accident.

  I am sure her family is going to give the money to the society. They probably think it is quite appropriate.

  JW wedding reception - Should I go? Would you?

  i've been invited to attend a wedding reception of a "sister" that i was formerly close with.

  there was no major breaking up of the friendship or anything, other than her not liking a statement i made.

  just a distancing apart.

  If you are seriously trying to fade. Don't go. If you are seen as an associate of the cong. you could be veiwed as someone who should be "dealt with". If you have no social ties you will not be seen as a threat should any of your "wrong doing" come to light in the future.

  I don't think I would send a gift. An e-mail invite to a reception is tactless.

  ...kick off your shoes and stick the tv on when the phone rings.. who else has said "who's been disfellowshipped now?".

  any time any of our family in other congregations phone after a meeting it's usually to spread bad tidings..

  i have posted a couple of threads in the last year getting rid of my old wt literatrash.

  the first purge emptied an entire bookcase and part of another.

  i put the remaining books into a big rubbermaid container and stored it.

  I wish I was where you guys are. I am still holding on to a collection. Mostly for proof purposes. I feel the need to have hard copies if I need to prove something. One day I hope not to care and have noone left to "save".

  The Boring Life Of A Jehovah's Witness

  when you think back at how boring being a witness was, it's amazing that we lasted as long as we did.. i hear jws get sooo excited when they leave a tract with a person!

  a stupid little tract!

  or if a witness was asked to come into the same car that the circuit overseer was in, it would be considered such a "privilege".

  I used to think I loved doing all that "meaningful" work too. But then you WAKE UP and realized you are getting used. NO-ONE loves cleaning the bathrooms , wiping down the brothers urinal. NOBODY. If everyone loved it don't you think there would be a bigger line up for the privledge?

  I agree with Minimus ; many boring years spent doing very boring things.

  You even have to stifle laughing at the few funny things that happen at the kingdumb hall. No fun for YOU!

  Elders Trash Face Book

  just found out that elders and spies are trolling face book and my space.

  some elders in xxx congregation began trolling face book looking for wayward souls and using the links to other friends etc to get more info.

  they waited until they had enough ammo on the 'friends' and then printed off some of the conversations being had....questioned the 'friends' who of course denied everything..and then they produced the printed copies to catch them in the lies.

  I have nothing to hide. But I know lots of people who live a different life on facebook and this will come to haunt them.
